A one-woman gardening enterprise, I offer garden consultations, design, planting and garden maintenance, as well as big clean-ups for the neglected, overgrown gardens.
I use no power tools, just hand tools and a light touch to emphasize the natural beauty of the plants and surrounding landscape.
VIRIDESCENCE BIO
As a child I spent many a day picnicing in poppy fields and gardening at home with my mom, whose love of plants and nature I am grateful to have inherited.
In addition to a lifetime of gardening, I completed the Tilden Botanic Garden docent program, where I had an intensive and extensive education in native plants. I also studied horticulture and garden design at Merritt College, and while the design classes and theory are interesting, I also learned that I don't want to design the way the big-time landscapers do!
I like to work with a loose hand-drawn design and have the most success when leaving plenty of room for last-minute changes and planting in stages. I enjoy really listening to my clients to achieve the feel they want for their garden, and bringing out the natural beauty in outdoor spaces!

Maintenance
Gardens need to be maintained to stay looking and healthy and beautiful. A much different service than mowing grass and blowing leaves, I tend to my client’s gardens bi-weekly or monthly, or as needed. Each visit is different, depending on the needs of your garden, but generally include pruning, deadheading, weeding, fertilizing, tidying up and generally…maintaining! Your garden will look and feel refreshed after maintenance visits.
Big clean up sessions
Have an overgrown garden? Has it become overwhelming? Reducing the amount of plant material is an art!
Creating space in the garden allows each plant more light and air flow and the result is a healthier garden which is more pleasing and calming to the senses. Big cleanup projects show big result fast!
